SUNDAY WALK IN ANAFIOTIKA.

 On the east side of Acropolis, a Cycladic neighborhood is located on the sacred rock. It was built in the middle of the 19th century when workers from Anafi arrived in Athens in order to work as builders for the reconstruction of the city and the erection of Otto's palace. The rock reminded them of their homeland and began to build their small houses in the nights. After 1922, refugees from Smyrna were added to the residents of the neighborhood. Climbing the stone alleys, time stops. The scent of the basil and jasmine reminds us an aegean island and the whitewashed houses emanate the housekeeping of those who have been spoiled and built their new home. Here, Greece breaths, sculptured and carved into the sacred rock of  Acropolis.
